Choose another use as a benchmark

Compare this booking’s value with another use of your points. This choice sets the benchmark; it changes neither the prices entered nor how you pay for this booking.

Only methods identified in the current publication are offered. If a method is missing, consult the program page or keep the general benchmark.

Enter the full upfront payment, then the net cost after the expected credit. The credit cannot fund the initial purchase. Interest and financing fees are not calculated. Your reward estimates must also reflect the rules applying to the credit.

If no cash is due with points, explicitly enter 0.

Points remain whole. For BONUSDOLLARS, enter the exact native quantity with up to two decimals. Do not replace a fractional balance with a whole number.

Enter when you saw each offer. A blank date stays unknown; it is not replaced with today.

Record the conditions of both offers

Optional: summarize cancellation, baggage, room or cabin conditions and important restrictions (500 characters per offer). Your notes do not verify that the offers are equivalent.

Compare cancellation and changes

Conditions can change your choice even when points look attractive. Enter what you have checked for each offer; missing information stays unknown.

Conditions for each offer

Cash offer

Voluntary cancellation

The refund describes money paid. A travel credit is not a cash refund and may have its own restrictions.

Enter the full fees in CAD. Leave blank if unknown; enter 0 only if no fee has been confirmed. These potential fees are not added to the initial payment.

A date alone confirms neither the cutoff time nor its time zone. The comparison stays indicative while this detail is missing.

Voluntary changes

These change fees do not include a possible fare difference. Leave the amount blank if unknown.

Consider what I would actually pay

A high advertised price is not necessarily a saving for you. Optionally enter the most you would pay for this service. Your personal comparison uses the lower of this amount and the cash price. It does not change the amounts actually due and is not a funding budget. Without an amount, the comparison uses the advertised price. With zero points, only cash outlays are compared.

Include rewards earned when paying
Enter my dollar estimates

Optional: enter the estimated CAD value of eligible rewards for each option, including the cash portion of the points booking. Check the card, program, excluded fees and conditions. Fill in both amounts, using 0 only when no rewards are expected; if either value is unknown, leave both fields blank. Exclude welcome bonuses and uncertain gains. These future values do not reduce the cash due at booking. With zero points, they are excluded from the price comparison.

Calculate using a card earning rule

Choose your card and the rule applying to each payment. Enter eligible spending, checked conditions and cap usage. Rewards remain estimates and cannot fund booking.

Cash offer

Choose a rule to view its rate and caps.

A verified rate does not verify every condition, cap or your eligibility. The result identifies missing evidence and remains indicative.

This amount cannot exceed the actual payment. Check excluded taxes, fees, merchants and channels. Leave blank if unknown; enter 0 if no spending is eligible.

Rule cap usage

Shared caps

Count every category in the group, not just this trip. An omitted applicable group or unknown usage prevents a reward estimate.

Native quantity and dollar value are separate. The general benchmark remains conditional; a selected use requires your eligibility. Cashback does not use a points benchmark.

How to read the result

Value per point = (total cash price − cash due with points) ÷ number of points. Taxes and fees are already included in both amounts: do not add them again.

The benchmark is a program estimate, not a guarantee for this trip. It does not consider your balance, other uses for your points, purchase and transfer promotions. Adjusting for payment rewards requires two known values, entered manually or estimated using your selected rules. Check availability and prices before booking.
